James Walker started with the Vermillion Police Department in 1996.  James was promoted to Sergeant in January of 2000.  James has participated as a core runner and fund raiser for the South Dakota Special Olympics since 1997.  James is a field training officer, firearms instructor, defensive tactics instructor and fitness officer.  James enjoys outdoor activities such as running, biking, fishing and camping.  Family and friends are also top priorities.
